Question:
I would like to get injectable filler in my cheeks as well as an implant. I want to accentuate my cheekbones and fill in the sides of my cheeks that are quite gaunt. Is this a two day procedure or can I get both at the same time? I thought that perhaps the cheeks would change a lot after the implant, and there might be swelling.
Answer:
I can understand your concerns with putting foreign objects into your face in the case of chin augmentation. I use silicone chin implants for augmentation as I fee that they are reliable and predictable in their results and safe. Your questions with regards to fat injections to your chin is an excellent one. Although chin augmentation with the use of implants is my first choice, I have used and have been relatively pleased with the use of fat in the chin for augmentation. It gives a natural feel and the amount of fat placed can be altered to sculpt the shape of the chin. My only hesitation is that the longevity of the fat is somewhat suspect in the chin area and re injection and touch up procedures are likely going to be necessary.
