Question:
I am interested in rhinoplasty if my nostrils can be shortened a lot. They are very long, extending the entire length of my nose. Can a nose job actually shorten the length of nostrils?
Answer:
Long nostrils are somewhat difficult to change during Rhinoplasty (Nose Job) but, the changes can be made. I will tell you that I do not believe that even though the changes can be made the nostrils can be shorted to only a moderate degree. By increasing the ratio of the nasal tip height, to that of the nostril height, the nostrils will appear less elongated. Bringing the nasal tip backward in a nose that may be too prominent will also shorten the length of the nostrils. The specific changes that you can expect to see during Rhinoplasty are best demonstrated using computer imaging and the specific changes that you would like to see in your Rhinoplasty will also be well represented with computer imaging during your consultation.
