Question:
What sort of complications do you encounter most often with the brow lift and how do you address them?
Answer:
The most frequent complication that can occur following a browlift is numbness of the forehead and scalp following the procedure. I prefer using the endoscopic brow lift approach which greatly reduces the incidence of forehead numbness following the brow lift as the incisions are significantly smaller and do not directly involve the nerve to sensation of the scalp. Meticulous dissection around the sensory nerves in the brow during the brow lift also helps reduce the incidence of numbness of the forehead and scalp following the procedure. Fortunately, most of the scalp and forehead numbness that can occur following the brow lift is transient and full recovery is most likely going to occur.
