Question:
I had rhinoplasty almost a month ago to lift the tip slightly and remove a small hump. I’m worried that the tip now looks like a ball at the bottom of what is now a long and narrow nose and that this will get even worse as the swelling subsides. Do you have any experience with this? Should I be concerned and will I need additional work on the tip?
Answer:
Whenever I perform a rhinoplasty surgery I expect some swelling when the bandages come off and likely for the first few weeks. The fine definition of the nasal tip that I expect to result from the rhinoplasty can take several months to show up and swelling of the nasal tip is not something to be too concerned about. An injection of Kenalog 10 into the nasal tip can often times help remedy the swelling. Give it some time and revisit your nose in about 3 months. If it still looks large then further work may need to be completed.
