Question:
I am 63 and suffered of a stroke recently. I would like to get a facelift on one side of my face, but I don’t know if it’s appropriate for me. Is a facelift a good idea at all, or could it be counterproductive if just doing it on one side of the face?
Answer:
I am sorry to hear about your recent stroke. You are quite young and I am sure that this stroke has had an impact on your life. There are many procedures that can be offered to stroke victims to create symmetry of the face. Although a face lift may seem like the procedure that will give you the best outcome, depending on the severity of the facial weakness, other procedures may be more indicated to have performed in this scenario. I would be happy to see you in consultation to help answer questions that you may have with regards to the appropriateness of a face lift given your particular situation. I may be able to suggest other options which will give you a better aesthetic outcome.
