Question:
Since my rhinoplasty four months ago, the swelling seems entirely gone from the bridge. However, the tip still looks very swollen and, as a result, too big compared to the rest of the nose. Is it normal for the swelling to fade this disproportionately or should I be considering revision at this point?
Answer:
Four months is entirely too soon to be considering revision rhinoplasty. It is not uncommon at all for the bridge swelling to resolve and to still have appreciable nasal tip swelling from your rhinoplasty. I will often times recommend an injection of steroids into the nasal tip to help move the process along and this can provide dramatic resolution of the nasal tip swelling. Rhinoplasty healing really does take some time.
