Question:
What are the different approaches currently available for a mini facelift?
Answer:
There are several different interpretations of the mini facelift that are currently being employed. I prefer to use an incision that is very well camouflaged in the hairline and inside the front part of the ear. The mini facelift incision that I use takes a little longer to execute, however, the outcome is well worth it. There are also a variety of mini facelift suspension techniques that have been described. The key is to provide good upward elevation to the deep tissues of the face to alleviate the jowls and moderately modify the neck. When I perform a mini facelift I like to use non absorbable suture for this suspension as described in the literature for a MACS lift. The results of my mini facelift technique are predictable and longer lasting.
