How long is the recovery time for rhinoplasty?

Question:
I have a “piggish” nose. It is upturned so much you can see inside my nostrils. I want a nose job. How long is the recovery time for rhinoplasty? Will I need to remain in bed the following day?

Answer:
The recovery time for a nose job is generally about a week. I encourage you to sleep with your head elevated while in bed in order to decrease the swelling of your nose following your nose job. However, I also like you to walk around for a little while the day after surgery and not stay in bed. I have found that patients who are lightly active, such as sitting and walking, following their nose job, recover quicker and feel better sooner.
