Question:
I started losing my hair around age 30, and now that I am a 53 year old male I was hoping to have a facelift. How much scarring is involved in a facelift? Will it be more noticeable since I do not have hair to cover up the scarring?
Answer:
Male facelifts do require more creativity in placement of incisions due to the fact that men tend to either lose their hair or at least develop some thinning of their hair. Incisions for male facelifts will need to be positioned in places where the eye will not detect the incisions. Placement of the incision in the back of the ear, behind the tragus, and only slightly into the temple will enable your surgeon to perform a successful facelift but will leave you with the least amount of visible scarring following your facelift.
