Question:
I have a dry eyes condition but would like to have eyelid surgery for both the top and bottom lids. Will blepharoplasty interfere with my tear ducts at all?
Answer:
Dry eyes are definitely something that needs to be considered before undergoing eyelid surgery. Personally, if your dry eyes are severe, I would perform only the most conservative surgery possible to improve the appearance of your eyes. Your tear ducts may need to be addressed separately if you have severe dry eyes, but, blepharoplasty should not affect your tear ducts if performed appropriately.
