Question:
I recently heard of something called a post-auricular neck lift. Can you explain what this is? How is it different from a regular neck lift?
Answer:
I believe what you are asking me about is a necklift that may be performed in cases of mild to moderate neck laxity with the use of sutures. I perform all of my neck lift surgery through a post auricular incision, which simply means the incision is placed behind the ear. If the muscles of the neck need to be tightened, then a submental approach (small incision underneath the chin) is also employed to better recreate the natural neck contour.
