Question:
How long is the typical chin implant surgery? What is the implant made of?
Answer:
Chin implant surgery usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour to perform. The chin implant that I prefer to use is made of solid silicone. I use a chin/pre-jowl extended chin implant to give the chin and face a natural contour. Silicone is an inert material and will not react with the body. The body forms a capsule around the implant to incorporate the implant. If for some reason there is a problem with the chin implant, silicone chin implants are easily removed and replaced.
