Question:
What exactly is a MACS facelift? Is it as effective as a traditional facelift?
Answer:
A MACS lift is a Minimal Access Cranial Suspension lift or better known as a mini facelift. I do perform the MACS lift in a select subset of patients who seek my advice with regards to facial rejuvenation. The procedure is extremely effective in younger individuals who are looking for improvement in the jowl area and have only mild skin redundancy in the neck. The MACS lift is a much less invasive procedure than a traditional facelift so the results typically do not last as long and the indications for the MACS lift are more specific than the degree of rejuvenation that can be achieved with a traditional facelift.
