Question:
I am 67-years-old and have very thin hair like my mother. I want to have a facelift, but will the scars be more noticeable since my hair will not be able to cover the incisions?
Answer:
Thick hair will always be better to camouflage any incision which is made in the face or hairline. The facelift incisions are placed in positions so that it is hard for the casual observer to see the incisions especially the ones in front of the ear. I use the hairline in the temple region and behind the ear in order to hide the facelift incisions. I spend a great deal of time making sure the incisions are created and closed well. Although, at first the incisions for your facelift may be more noticeable in the hairline than they would be in an individual with thicker hair, the hairline incisions should heal quite imperceptibly.
