Question:
I would love to have gorgeous, full lips. Is lip augmentation accomplished will a filler or surgery? What are my options for this procedure?
Answer:
Everyone wants to have gorgeous full lips! Lip augmentation is one of the most popular uses for fillers. I tend to use hyaluronic acid fillers for this purpose as the results are natural and the lips feel softer. There are definitely surgical alternatives for lip augmentation. Placement of the newer soft silicone implants is gaining popularity as they feel more natural than implants which were used in the past and they are completely reversible. If you want them increased in size of do not like the feel of the implant, they can be removed or exchanged with a relatively quick surgical procedure. I have used fat for lip augmentation but, I am not pleased with the longevity of the fat as I feel it is a little unpredictable when used in the lip.
