Question:
My friend just got eyelid surgery, and she looks great! I’ve been considering a facelift, but after seeing her results, I’m thinking about going with eyelid surgery. I don’t have eye bags, but my cheeks are kind of sunken, and I’ve got loose skin on my face. I know eyelid surgery won’t help directly with facial sagging, but could a blepharoplasty make my face look brighter overall without more drastic facial surgery?
Answer:
There is a saying that “your eyes are the windows to your soul”. I am a big fan of blepharoplasty for a number of reasons. I feel that when you encounter people the first area of your face that they will look at will likely be your eyes. Blepharoplasty should be performed to brighten your face and not to change the way you look. I have been combining fat injections to the cheeks with blepharoplasty to give a really striking result to facial rejuvenation. Elevation of the midface with the use of autologous fat and tightening of the lower lid really provides a youthful facial appearance. The procedure will likely not remedy any lower facial skin sagging, but, it will definitely help with facial hollowing and excess skin around your cheeks and eyes.
