Question:
After my facelift, will I have problems eating?
Answer:
The first few days after your facelift, I place a relatively compressive dressing on your face to prevent accumulation of fluid beneath the newly elevated and treated facial skin. The dressing can be cumbersome and uncomfortable however, my facelift patients have not had any particular difficulty eating following their facelift. I recommend a soft relatively bland diet for the first few days after surgery to avoid significant chewing and facial movement. I am not sure that this impacts the final result of the facelift, but, it seems intuitive that it can only help.
