Question:
After my gastric bypass surgery, I lost a significant amount of weight. My face looks very empty and my skin is very loose. What types of facial surgeries would give me a fuller face and more youthful look?
Answer:
Congratulations on your weight loss. The unfortunate byproduct of such significant weight loss is that you do not get to choose from where your fat will come from. Many patients who have significant weight loss are left with thin, hollow faces with excessive skin. In this situation I would recommend a combination of skin lifting and excision in the form of a well performed facelift along with well placed fat injections to the face to help fill out the hollowness.
