Question:
I have terrible seasonal allergies right now. Can I get rhinoplasty or should I wait until next season?
Answer:
It is completely safe to have rhinoplasty surgery during your allergy season. It may be a good idea to have your surgeon evaluate the inside of your nose so that if there is some functional nasal work that can be done to improve your nasal airway it can be done at the same time as your cosmetic rhinoplasty. Your allergies would not change, but, you may be quite surprised to find out how correction of a deviated septum or reduction of enlarged nasal turbinates can help with your nasal airway and your response to your allergies.
