Question:
I think I need a neck lift due to the fact that my skin hangs down around my neck in folds. Where is the incision and is the neck muscle actually tightened? Can you remove some neck fat at the same time?
Answer:
There are several approaches to a neck lift procedure. There are different incisions and different solutions for women and men when approaching a neck. In the description that you have given, to address an isolated neck issue, I use two separate incisions. The first incision is placed underneath and behind the ears to help get rid of excess skin. The second incision, in your particular neck lift situation, would be placed underneath the chin in order to tighten the platysma muscles (the muscles of the neck) and to remove excess fat of the neck.
