Question :
I know eyelid surgery is sometimes performed for medical reasons if sagging upper eyelids interfered with vision. Is this ever true for brow lift surgery?
Answer :
Upper eyelid surgery can be partially covered by your insurance if there are associated visual field deficits that can be documented. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to have your brow lift covered by your insurance even though it makes sense that your brows are likely contributing to some of your visual field issues. Insurance companies consider brow lift surgery purely cosmetic except in cases of facial weakness or paralysis where reconstruction involves the brow.
