Question:
I am 70-years-old and the wrinkles on my forehead are embarrassing. Would I be eligible for a mid-forehead lift? How does that differ from a standard forehead lift?
Answer:
At 70 years of age you and male I would say that you are a potential candidate for a mid forehead brow lift. A standard brow lift differs from a mid forehead brow lift in that standard brow lift incisions are made either in or behind the frontal and temporal hairlines in order to elevate the forehead and brow. A mid forehead brow lift uses incisions that are place directly into the lines of the forehead in order to elevate the brow. Needless to say, the number one potential complication of mid forehead brow lift surgery is visibility of the incision. The approach works well in older males as the forehead lines tend to be deep and the incisions are well camouflaged in the forehead creases even after the forehead lines are reduced.
