Question:
How is a pug-type nose corrected?
Answer:
Correction of a pug type nose with rhinoplasty can be difficult. There are several rhinoplasty maneuvers that can be used to correct a pug nose deformity and most of these rhinoplasty maneuvers involve elongating the nose, and dropping the nasal tip. I prefer to use septal cartilage grafts in order to elongate and downwardly rotate the nose during rhinoplasty. The septal cartilage is plentiful, strong, and will not be rejected from the nose. During your rhinoplasty consultation, computer imaging can help demonstrate the changes that need to be performed on your nose in order to give your nose a more esthetically pleasing appearance.
