Question:
How long does it take to get a chemical peel? I heard that you need several treatments.
Answer:
Chemical peels come in various strengths. Chemical peels which contain higher concentration of acids are stronger and cause more skin damage which will treat more significant facial skin issues. The healing from stronger chemical peels can take a week or more to take place and repeating the treatment may not be necessary for years. Chemical peels that are less concentrated and cause only transient redness and mild swelling of the facial skin can be repeated more frequently. Your physician, nurse, or aesthetician who is performing your chemical peels will be able to tell you what you can expect from your chemical peel and how often these chemical peels can be performed safely and effectively.
