Question:
How long should I be off Accutane before undergoing rhinoplasty?
Answer:
I would suggest at least a 6 month hiatus from Accutane prior to undergoing rhinoplasty. If it was a low dose of Accutane and you have only been on it for a brief period of time, you will likely be prepared for rhinoplasty after 3 months. If you have been on the medication for several years, then a longer period of time, even up to 1 year, would likely be required. Accutane can inhibit the natural healing process of the skin of the nose following rhinoplasty.
