Question:
I am an African American male and have a flattened nose. I would like my nose to extend just a bit more than it does as well as have it narrowed. Would this type of rhinoplasty look unnatural on my face?
Answer:
African American males typically have noses which are flattened in their appearance. Elevating and conservatively defining the tip will not look unnatural if performed appropriately. I would suggest seeing a qualified rhinoplasty specialist and having a formal consult. I would see someone who offers computer imaging as this will enable you to see the results that your surgeon has in mind for you and you can both decide if these changes enhance the appearance of your face.
