I got a laser skin resurfacing treatment

Question:
I got a laser skin resurfacing treatment the day before yesterday. My face is extremely swollen and red. It makes me feel better to wash my face, but Ive been trying to restrain myself from doing it too often. How often is it safe to wash your face right after laser skin resurfacing?

Answer:
Your physician should have given you strict instructions to follow after having your laser skin resurfacing procedure. Wound care, to include cleansing the face with warm water, a gentle hypoallergenic soap, and possibly a dilute vinegar mixture is of paramount importance to achieving the desired laser resurfacing results without complications. Following each cleansing, and this can be three times per day, a moisturizer such as Aquafor should be applied to the face to keep the skin entirely moist and covered.
