Question:
I had tip work performed on my nose several months ago. Is it normal for the cartilage in the tip to feel very hard at this time?
Answer:
Tip work on your nose may mean many things. If you had a cartilagenous graft placed to improve the appearance of your nose during rhinoplasty, then it is not unusual for your nasal tip to feel somewhat hard and this may continue for many more months. If you required a great deal of fat removal or tip sculpting during rhinoplasty then the firmness that you are experiencing is likely the result of scar tissue and it can take several months after rhinoplasty for the tissue to soften and the scar tissue to resorb giving your tip a more natural feeling.
