Question:
I recently had a brow lift and my face still feels numb. It’s been almost a month. Is this normal?
Answer:
Facial numbness following a brow lift is a bit perplexing. There are several nerves that emerge from small holes in your skill above your eyes that are responsible for sensation of the forehead area. These nerves should not affect any portion of your lower face. I spend a great deal of time identifying these nerves during forehead lift surgery to make sure these nerves are not injured. Temporary numbness of the forehead can occur if these nerves are stretched during surgery. The numbness you are experiencing should resolve in about 4-8 weeks.
