Question:
I’m 20, female, and I have thyroid problems, causing me to be overweight. It seems really unfair that I should have to deal with this forever, so I’m trying to figure out a way to lose some of the weight. Am I a candidate for liposuction despite my thyroid issues?
Answer:
If you have thyroid issues you must first address the medical componant of your thyroid problems prior to undertaking any liposuction procedures. If your thyroid functions are under control and you have areas of fat that are excessive and you have been unable to decrease in spite of a proper diet and excercise program, then I feel that you may be a good candidate for liposuction. Needless to say, a thorough evaluation of the areas of fat removal you are interested in is really the only way to determine your candidacy for the liposuction procedure.
