Question:
I’m 34, female, and Chinese. I’d like to get my nose narrowed with a nose job. I also have a typical flatter, rounder face, which is one of my concerns. If I get my nose narrowed, will the rest of my face look even flatter and wider?
Answer:
A flat and wide nose actually enhances the flatter and wider face that you have described in the Asian population. Narrowing the nasal tip, increasing the height of the nasal bridge, and better defining the nasal tip during rhinoplasty will actually help to give the appearance of a more narrow face. Of course, too much work during the rhinoplasty will make your nose look fake and I believe that the nose needs to fit the face, and a well performed rhinoplasty will take into account all of these factors so that you achieve the best result possible from your rhinoplasty.
