Question:
Im a 24-year-old man and a pretty big guy. I really like my appearance, except my nose. It doesnt fit with the rest of me at all. It is very small and feminine and Id like to get a rhinoplasty to fix it. What are some things that can be done within a rhinoplasty surgery to make a nose look more masculine?
Answer:
What makes a nose appear masculine relative to a nose that appears feminine is the strength of the nasal bridge, the size of the nose, and the angle of the nose relative to the face. A full or straight nasal bridge is more masculine than a weak or concave nasal bridge. A strong and full tip is more masculine than a pointed and overly defined tip. The angle of the nose relative to the face is also a feature that can make the nose look feminine if this angle is too big where the tip heads in an upward direction. I use a great deal of cartilage grafting during rhinoplasty in order to masculanize a nose that is petite or feminine.
