Question:
I’m a 27 year old man. I’ve always hated the fact that my ears stick out very badly. I’d like to get an otoplasty to fix this, but I have a major concern. I’m very prone to buzzing in the ears, and I’d hate for it to get worse. Could an otoplasty provoke this annoying buzzing in my ears?
Answer:
Otoplasty is the perfect solution to fix those prominant ears. The buzzing in your ears is likely the result of something that is going on in your inner ear and not the result of the structure of your prominent ears. I would strongly suggest having an Otolaryngologist examine your ears but you can be sure that your buzzing will not be exacerbated by otoplasty for prominant ears.
