Question:
I had a facelift ten years ago and lately I have noticed some wrinkling, dimpling and sagging in my upper cheeks and jaw areas. Is it too soon to get another procedure or should I wait a little longer?
Answer:
Ten years is about the lifetime of a facelift. However, by your description it is likely that two separate issues are taking place to your face. Your facial skin is aging and a facelift will certainly help to remove excess skin and elevate the tissue of your face to a more youthful position. What is also taking place is that your face is starting to lose valuable fat that maintains the youthful appearance of the face. If a revision facelift is indicated, I would also suggest autologous fat transplantation to help plump and fill the face. Facelift alone will likely not give you the results that you would like to see from a facelift.
