Question:
Ive always been plagued by awful dark hair that grows very fast on my legs, arms, and underarms. Ive been thinking about getting laser hair removal to help control the hairs growth. Because I have such thick, dark hair, will I need more treatments than someone with lighter hair?
Answer:
Thick dark hair against light skin is a laser hair removal dream. You will likely need to have six treatments to adequately reduce the hair in the areas of your concern because of the thickness of the hair. You will likely need a laser hair removal touch up every year for a couple of years to maintain your hair free appearance. Dark hair is much better for laser hair removal than light hair as the laser may not “recognize” its target, the hair follicle, if the hair is too light.
