Question:
Ive been looking into the option of a midface lift to make my face look young once again. Im a 47-year-old woman so I dont really want to get a full facelift at this point. I know there are many different types of midface lifts. What are the most common types?
Answer:
You are correct in that there are many different types of midface lifts performed. I am a big fan of the sub-periosteal midface lift. I prefer this lift because it is the only way to get elevation of the entire midface to include the muscles of facial expression and the midface fat pad. Many of the other midface lifts use sutures or endotines to elevate the midface but, these suspension techniques without thorough undermining of the periosteum fails to provide long term results to midface rejuvenation.
