I’ve heard that some people experience excessive scarring with mini facelift procedures. Is this true and how can this be prevented?
Answer:
Excessive scarring is a concern no matter what the surgical procedure. Meticulous care of the skin is imperative to prevent scarring following facelift surgery. Prevention of hematoma and bleeding, and not placing too much tension on the skin during closure will also reduce the incidence of scarring after a mini facelift. Quitting tobacco, reducing alcohol intake, and controlling your blood pressure will significantly reduce the severe post operative complications that can result in scarring after a mini facelift.
