Question:
How common is it in Asian patients to combine rhinoplasty with chin augmentation?
Answer:
It is no more common for an Asian patient to request rhinoplasty and chin augmentation be performed concurrently than you would see in a Caucasian population. There are certainly differences in the rhinoplasty that would need to be performed on an Asian patient when compared to a Caucasian patient, and the size of the chin implant would likely be smaller in an Asian patient than a Caucasian patient because of the facial balance that would need to be achieved in each of these patient types. In general, I perform chin implant surgery along with rhinoplasty in all patients approximately 3-6% of the time.
