Question:
The advances in plastic surgery have always amazed me. I am currently on a fat removal search on the Internet and came across laser lipolysis. With this procedure, do you have to go under the skin? How does the laser remove the fat?
Answer:
The particular type of laser fat removal that I perform is laser lipolysis with the SlimLipo technology. The SlimLipo procedure is performed under local anesthesia. A few small entry points about 1/2 cm in size are placed in inconspicuous locations near the areas that you are interested in having treated. Laser energy is delivered that not only melts fat but, will tighten the skin so that you will look both thinner and more toned following the procedure. Once the fat is liquified by the liposuction laser, the melted fat is gently suctioned out from the areas that were just treated.
