Question:
I would like to know exactly what areas are improved by a cheek lift and if the cheek lift is the same things as a mid facelift. The areas I am concerned about are the nasolabial folds, sagging cheeks, the beginning of jowls and marionette lines. Does the cheek lift also improve skin texture?
Answer:
A cheek lift is exactly the same as a mid facelift, at least in my office. A mid facelift will elevate the facial cheek pad which will diminish the appearance of the nasolabial folds, but, more importantly, restore the cheek fat pad to its more youthful position higher in the face. The cheek lift does not improve skin texture nor does it address marionette lines or jowls. These areas are best treated with a facelift or a mini-facelift.
