Question:
What facial rejuvenation treatment(s) do you recommend to treat wrinkles stemming from years of smoking?
Answer:
The first and most important thing that I recommend to my patients to treat facial wrinkles caused by years of smoking is to STOP SMOKING! After that, I have several different approaches to facial wrinkles depending upon the depth of the wrinkles and severity of skin damage. Some of the approaches I use are moderate or deep chemical peels, Fraxel laser treatments, full face laser resurfacing, and the use of dermal fillers to add volume to the face. Which treatment we decide upon will also be based on the location of the wrinkles, the pigment of your skin, and the amount of downtime or tolerance for repeated treatments that you are willing to have.
